So how has your latest single gone so far with fans then?
The response to the latest single “Love & Behold” has been really positive so far. It’s a very personal track, so seeing listeners connect with it – both musically and emotionally – means a lot. People seem to appreciate the mix of progressive elements, emotional storytelling, and the more introspective atmosphere. And judging by the messages I’ve received, the song has landed exactly where I hoped it would: with people who like to sit with music and let it unfold slowly.
Tell us something about the release no one knows?
The music video for “Love & Behold” was entirely coded and created using web-based 3D programming – right in my home office. I used three.js and even wrote some custom libraries so I could build everything out of tiny floating hearts.
Also, at one point, I seriously considered making the fish in the video salmon, as a tribute to my stepfather (he loved salmon fishing). But visually, it didn’t quite work – so the final version uses more colourful, tropical fish. Somewhere in an alternate universe, though, that salmon version exists.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
I’d love to collaborate with Jaga Jazzist or a large ensemble similar to theirs. I’m a huge fan of Lars Horntveth – his work as a composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist is extraordinary. Jaga Jazzist fuse genres in a way that feels both natural and bold, and that genre-blending philosophy is very close to Holon’s DNA. I think we could create something genuinely special together.
Can you tell us about the meaning behind the release?
“Love & Behold” is about stepping into a new chapter after the end of a long relationship. It’s about the uncertainty of opening up again – navigating modern dating, rediscovering vulnerability, questioning whether love can happen again, and then choosing to try anyway.
It’s both a reflective and hopeful song. It’s the sound of a heart waking up after a long winter.
What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?
No tours lined up at the moment. holon is still primarily a studio project, and most of my energy right now is going into finishing the next set of releases. Live shows may happen down the line – but if they do, I want them to feel intentional, atmospheric, and emotionally immersive.
What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?
If I ever do bring holon live, it’s less about the specific venue and more about the audience. But if I could pick something a bit dreamlike, I’d love to perform in a completely unexpected place – maybe something like the Træna Festival on the remote Norwegian islands. Or even one of the wonders of the world.
You know, Yanni at the Taj Mahal style. Only this time with prog-rock melancholy instead of white suits and wind machines.
What else can we expect from you in 2025, going into 2026?
A lot of new music. The focus now is on releasing Part 1 of the two-part Love & Behold album, followed by more singles and eventually Part 2.
There will also be more visual work – videos, digital art, and projects that blend my musical and technical sides. I have a backlog of older material too, so some long-sleeping songs may finally see daylight.
My aim is to keep building the holon world – slowly, steadily, and in a way that feels true to the music.
