The Hiss of Life

‘Hold your families close’

We get a warning, portentous, foreboding, we see the artwork, a snake, it’s jaw wide open, fangs that lie in wait, steps that beckon, what do you reckon?

Sincere apologies, I am late to this one, I knew it was released but I was working and didn’t have a minute to sit with it.

New Pulse are a band I saw at Pirate Studios as part of a six band pile-up set over two rooms. That night, I knew I had to keep tabs on these guys.
There is no such thing as overnight success, we tend to forget that musicians are human, and just like us they have a whole rota of work, and family responsibilities. The music fits in somewhere amidst the daily chaos.

The EP ‘Descent’ is much heavier than I expected and that’s not a bad thing; I quite like being thrashed around the head in a merciless attempt on my life.
We proceed ‘In the Name of God’ because the battle between good and evil is ongoing, it shows no sign of stopping.
With ‘Hellbent’ you get a distinct two note da -da, sound like a door swinging on rusty hinges, at 0.5 and 0.10 then it continues in the background at intervals, hold my WD40 I say, I need these unsettling and sinister vibes.
After the hiss we enter, there is danger, but we endure, we may perish but we will bathe in the ‘Endless Silence’ that awaits us.
Messrs Jinks, Price and Jones, sounds like a dodgy law firm, are equipped for action out on the stages of Birmingham, the Midlands and hell why not take them across continents. I absolutely believe it is time to give our new artists a fair chance, change the script, and let audiences see the talent that is amongst us.

Descend in the name of God, because a God by any other name will not suffice, the snake eyes penetrate and their poison seeps and sullies your blood.
A ‘Pentecostal’ intervention will cleanse and clear, but it is time for a new pulse, look no further my friends, it’s right here.
