Interview: L.O.C.

So how has your latest single gone so far with fans then?

The new single “Dragging Me Down” is going down an absolute storm with fans. The whole reason we decided to release this particular track was due to the huge response in receives both live and the massive views and reactions it gets when we post any video footage from shows or rehearsals on social media.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

I actually wrote this track over 20 years ago and performed a different version with a previous band. In L.O.C we have done a rework of the track and added some new twists and turns along the way. It’s a great feeling to know that a track I wrote the lyrics and concept for so many years ago still stands up now. Even better to have had the other guys input and Colin Richardson’s legendary mixing and production work on it to make it the best version it can be.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Would love to have Rob Flynn from MachineHead do guest vocals on a track. Colin, who mixes and produces our stuff, has done many of the MachineHead albums including Burn My Eyes which I think is one of the greatest metal albums ever. It would be great to get together with both Rob and Colin and make some magic happen. I’ll keep working on that one!

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the release?

The story behind the song focuses on the mental impact of deep a rooted longing for revenge and the emotional turmoil caused by this. It paints a picture of someone who is becoming consumed with these feelings to the point where it is destroying them.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

We don’t plan to tour intensively before the end of the year as we are currently songwriting and recording. We do have a few shows before the end of the year though and we will be back on the road properly in 2027.

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

We have a Halloween show booked in our home town of Bridlington on the 30th October at The Stirling Castle. We are going all out on the Halloween theme (make-up and the lot) and the home town shows are always a blast so this one will be a firm favourite.

What else can we expect from you in 2026?

We are planning to release a CD before the and of the year of all our material so far. Fans have requested a physical release so we will likely do this as some sort of limited edition. We are also writing and recording so will be releasing more new material before the end of the year.
