Interview: Random Ties

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

Hello everyone, Youssef from Random Ties vocal/guitar.

Being our first release, the take-off was challenging as we could not go on tour to promote the EP due to the pandemic, radio stations were shut but once things settled down its gotten good reviews by critics & is taking a new life.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

We finished the record in February but couldn’t release it because of the pandemic as we needed to shoot the music video for it so it was put on hold for 3 months until we were able to figure things out & how fitting the title is “Believe”

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Foo Fighters, I think they are on top of the rock mountain today & the best at what they do in my opinion. More importantly they are humble & good people as well.

How has your latest release been received?

Our new single “Thawra” was released on August 14th & inspired by the deadly attack that happened in Lebanon on August 4th that rocked the nation, leaving over 300,000 people displaced & thousands still missing or dead.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the Lebanese Red Cross & the outpour of support has been overwhelming so far & if you do decide to contribute purchase the single via our Bandcamp page https://randomties.bandcamp.com/track/thawra & you can watch the video on https://youtu.be/fv9cC_iLZk4

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

Not to get too political, “Thawra” means revolution which was born from the womb of sadness as we say, the people are still to this day fighting for their freedom and trying to overturn a corrupt government in Lebanon headed by the president & his puppets.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

We just finished out East coast tour playing a couple of shows at the Goose Lake Jamboree festival 50th anniversary, we plan on taking September off going to the studio & working on our second EP.

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

Wembley stadium it’s just so iconic all the history & legends that played there & to be part of something like that means that all the sweat & hard work paid off

What else can we expect from in 2020?

Given that the future of live shows is up in the air, we are turning to social media more to connect with our fans & new listeners, keeping them engaged with engaging content via our Insta page  https://www.instagram.com/randomtiesofficial/

We want to remain consistent by providing quality music to our audience & reach a wider fan base geographically so a big thanks to you for giving us this interview.
