Come On In: Alison Limerick Announces First London Show In Years At Islington Assembly Hall

Marking the forthcoming arrival of her brand-new album, ‘SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW,’ iconic singer Alison Limerick is bringing her colourful, chart-topping discography – blending a versatile mix of soul, dance, pop and jazz – to London’s Islington Assembly Hall on May 8th.

Accompanied by a full band, the performance’s title, ‘Come On In’, promises a musical celebration, which will also feature a shining focus on Limerick’s forthcoming album. Led by her new soul-stirring ballad, ‘Sista, Mother, Child,’ which was recently showcased on BBC Radio 2 Piano Rooms, the anthology-style collection is set to capture the spirit of an incredible 35 years in music.

‘Sista, Mother, Child’ is an intimate addition to Limerick’s work, crafting a soulful love letter to the precious memory of her mother. An emotional, resonant tribute, the track pairs piano-based melancholy with a sense of upliftment and faith – showcasing her songwriting’s depth and a more personal outlook.

The album arrives on the back of a revival of Limerick’s biggest hit, ‘Where Love Lives,’ a euphoric dance number that dominated the early 90’s club scene. The track, already a well-loved, nationwide favourite, soundtracked the John Lewis Christmas Advert – offering an uplifting backdrop to a touching father-son story.

This moment signifies Limerick’s legacy, which made a historic mark on house music yet expanded to a range of styles. Her creative endeavours are beyond sophisticated, spreading over several albums and collaborations with The Style Council, Frankie Knuckles, This Mortal Coil, and George Michael, to name a few, making her an instantly recognisable and diverse voice.

Marking her first London show in years, ‘Come On In‘ invites audiences to a shimmering showcase of her classic discography and an exclusive glimpse of ‘SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW.’
