The Gleeman Releases New Mini-Album, ‘You’ll Land Among The Stars’

The Gleeman proves substance still wins on mini-album ‘You’ll Land Among The Stars’. There’s grit in this record, the kind that comes from persistence, hard-earned perspective, and refusing to disappear quietly. ‘You’ll Land Among The Stars’ sounds like an artist fully comfortable with his voice, his limits, and his intent.

The Gleeman’s songwriting is rooted in narrative and character, drawing from folk and Americana traditions without leaning on imitation. ‘Gotta Get On’ stands out immediately: a sharply observed snapshot of ambition, fear, and conflict, set during the Gold Rush but unmistakably modern in its emotional stakes. The tension between the couple at its centre feels raw and unresolved, which is exactly why it works.

Throughout the album, restraint is used as a strength. ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ balances drive and vulnerability, capturing the uneasy relationship between belief and doubt. ‘Singing In The Rain’ doesn’t posture or perform remorse, it sits with it, allowing discomfort to remain unresolved.

‘You Are My Friend’ carries the feel of a song written before irony became fashionable. There’s no wink here, no attempt to soften sincerity. It’s direct, grounded, and surprisingly affecting because of it. ‘All My Days’ and ‘For A Second Time’ continue that honesty, focusing on endurance rather than romance, what it means to keep caring, even when outcomes aren’t guaranteed. The album closes with ‘My Final Song’, a track that could have easily tipped into melodrama. Instead, it’s calm, deliberate, and quietly defiant. It treats mortality as a subject worthy of thought rather than fear, offering reflection without asking for pity. It’s an unusual way to end a record, and a brave one.

What makes  ‘You’ll Land Among The Stars’ compelling isn’t its message about age or independence, though both are present. It’s the clarity of purpose running through every track. This is music made without rushing, without posturing, and without trying to fit into anyone else’s framework.

The Gleeman is building something solid, one song at a time, and letting the work speak for itself.
