Colour Me Conjured.

Again, I apologise profusely for the delay here, life just likes to mess with us all sometimes.

For me, Conjurer bring us a musical tear and share menu, all the artists here represent care and kindness, they bring love and light, and I find it hard to put into words as to how privileged I am to be here.
Their new album ‘Unself’ delves deeper into your being, it is an excavation exercise that is not for the faint of heart. It is a decree, a call to align ourselves with our fellow creatures and leave no one behind. I am proud to say that they illustrate the Midlands metal legacy with honour and a gritty resistance that gives us the resolve to stand fast.
A night of aural assault and emotional bodily harm is what we all opted in for, there’ll be time enough to lick our wounds.

The impassioned voices of Brady Deeprose and Dani Nightingale are intuitive enough to reason with our deepest fears, strong enough to hold onto our ankles as we dangle over the edge of oblivion.
Will they ‘Let Us Live’ or devour us completely, this is the song we have all been waiting for. The message is not new; the idea of being inclusive has been discussed for a long time, but this time the pigs must stop flying and the elephant in the room must leave.
Those with the power, the control are at fault; they create the division which enables hatred to prosper. The incandescent ‘Hang Them in Your Head’ should see them rue the day they attained their positions. The glass ceiling is in fact a cage, it encloses those less fortunate, it ensures they fight over the scraps tossed at them. I envision a musical rendition of The Hunger Games when I listen to these three bands, their essence and emotions are compelling, this is a bill that needs to tour again.

There will always be lessons to learn, however the notion to accept and engage with your ‘unself’ is a great starting point and let there be no reason that anyone feels that ‘This World Is Not My Home’.

Not tonight, not ever.
