Later this year, Chance will join The Lumineers on The Automatic World Tour for 20 shows across North America. A prime showcase for Chance’s poetic and potent lyricism, “Wolves of Worry” unfolds as a fable-like yet palpably raw portrait of anxiety. The gorgeously haunting track inhabits a stark simplicity before morphing into a glorious outburst in its final moment, inciting a sublime catharsis with its howling vocals and frenetic guitar work.

How has the release of single Wolves of Worry gone down with fans so far?

• Well I think they like it. It’s fun to play live for sure.

What would say your favourite single off the album ‘When I Change My Mind I Don’t Mean It’ is?

• Definitely “Good Love Die”

So you’ve finally released your new album, how excited are you to share this with your fans?

• Oh this is my favorite project I’ve ever done. Feels like it sums up my life over the last 3 years.

How long did it take to create the album from start to finish?

• From the moment I was like “these songs are gonna be the album songs”… probably a solid 4 months.

How has the team at Columbia Records been while making this album?

• They have been wonderful. Dream partners, very pleasant group of folks to work with and I feel very blessed to have them as partners.

So you went to a remote cabin in California, did this help you inspire writing lyrics?

• definitely did. I mean your locked away up there, snowed in at times. All there is to do is pick up a guitar and sing something.

If you could work with any artist on a new song, who would it be and why?

• Honestly I don’t have a great answer for that. I like to write with people I know, or want to get to know. Always want there to be some sort of personal relationship there. I’m not one to just hop on someone else’s song at the drop of a hat, I want there to be something real there. And when you encounter those “real people” you know it.

You have a few support shows coming up, are there any in particular looks to be a highlight for you?

Honestly all of them. Just excited to be on the road with talented, good hearted people.
