Those who yearn for the electric catharsis of loud guitars, driving rhythms, hypnotic
hooks, and the strength of shared experience have a new muse in Madame Mayhem.

The Manhattan born singer/songwriter takes charge of her own anxiety, hurt, and alienation, crushing it with sheer force of will, then channeling the remaining ether into pulse-pounding anthems, instantly connecting with anyone who has struggled.

We managed to catch up with Madame Mayhem for an interview as she talked about her latest single ‘Cruel Heart’ and more!

How has the release of your latest single ‘Cruel Heart’ gone down with fans so far?

I am so happy so far with how people have been reacting to “Cruel Heart”. I’m thrilled the song is connecting with people.

Can you tell us something about the single no one else knows?

I performed this song live on tour a few times prior to recording it, which only makes this release even more special because of the excitement the crowds had for “Cruel Heart” hearing it for the first time as an unknown song. I remember having conversations with fans after the shows about how much they connected with it, which means so much to me!

What was it like working with Keith Wallen on the single?

This was one of the first songs Keith Wallen and I wrote together. I always have such a great experience co-writing with Keith. I remember listening to this demo on my way home after we finished writing and just getting so excited to share it.

Will you be likely to be releasing an EP or album this year?

We shall see! Hope to do so soon! In the meantime everyone should keep rocking out to “Cruel Heart’ and stay tuned for possibly another single or two to drop this year while we keep working on new music.

How have you been coping with the ongoing pandemic, have you found it difficult finding motivation at times to write music?

There have definitely been times I have had difficulty finding motivation to write or just general motivation during the pandemic. I do have moments where motivation and inspiration comes too. It’s definitely a balancing act. It’s been difficult for everyone during this time and I think it’s okay to not be motivated 24/7 throughout a pandemic.

What do you miss the most about touring this past year and are you looking forward to playing again live once it’s safe to do so?

Singing and performing live on stage has always been my happy place and my greatest passion, so I miss that the most. I am definitely looking forward to playing live again once it is safe to do so.

If you could work with any band or artist on a new song, who would it be and why?

That’s a great question. I love collaborating with other writers and artists so I have a very long list, and there are also a bunch of people I have worked with in the past that I would love to continue working with! But to name just a few on my very long list: Trent Reznor, Lacuna Coil, 30 Seconds to Mars, Disturbed, KoRn, Breaking Benjamin, Dave Grohl, Adam Gontier, Halestorm, Evanescence, Incubus, Fire From the Gods and Sevendust.
