As far as live performances go, the intimate ones are always the best! Veridian took to the stage with support from Oaths and Roseview at Satan’s Hollow in Manchester on 23rd January, and it was a night enjoyed by all!

Contrary to the name, Satan’s Hollow was lit up with bright colourful lights, and the ceiling laced with fairy lights, not quite the demonic setting you envision! With the stage set up in the centre of the room, there was no such thing as a poor view.

Manchester born, post-hardcore band Oaths were first to take the stage. Their distinctive looks and intense playing meant they had the audiences attention right from the start. Oaths brought out the best of their repertoire for the set including ‘Sick’ and ‘Decay’, songs fuelled by raw emotion. Their set came to a passionate end with frontwoman Michaela throwing her guitar to the floor, a fitting end for such an adrenaline fuelled performance.

Following Oaths’ performance, American melodic hardcore band Roseview came bursting on to the stage! They performed their set with unfathomable energy which didn’t stop until the last note of ‘Tunnel Vision’! This was their first series of performances in the UK and it is safe to say they made a lasting impression. The chemistry between the band was evident and made them a particularly enjoyable watch. After expressing their love for popular pub chain Wetherspoons, they were guaranteed to have everyone in the room onside, after all, who doesn’t love a ‘spoons?

After two incredible support performances, headliners Veridian took to the stage with a spectacular performance of ‘Halo’. To say that the NoVella EP was well received would be an understatement, the crowd had done their homework! Fans were passionately singing the lyrics back and every ending was met with a loud cheer. The plain outfits and simplistic lighting just brought the whole set together, it was a seamless performance! The set was tight and well-rehearsed, the kind that makes you slightly frustrated that talented bands like this don’t get more recognition?

If you didn’t leave the venue with those bangers stuck in your head then you did something wrong!
