Live Review: Enter Shikari at Portsmouth’s Pyramids

Enter Shikari performed at Portsmouth’s Pyramids on their first part of the Stop The Clocks tour with Milk Teeth and Modern Error provided excellent support on the night.

It was truly packed out and lead singer Rou Reynolds and the band certainly did not dissapoint. They gave it 110% as always with Rou providing some excellent dance moves to say the least. They started with The Sights which was quickly followed by Step Up and Labyrinth which provided plenty of confetti. Arguing with Thermometers then certainly upped the volume of things with one of their latest track Rouble Rouser quickly following.

The crowd sang along to Halcyon which was a particular highlight of the night. Rou went on to say that the band are waiting to celebrate the anniversary of Common Dreads and said that it was in fact The Pyramids where they first met Andy Gray who went on to record that album. This then followed Hectic that features on the Common Dreads album. Shinrin-Yoku was then perfectly performed and features on Enter Shikari’s latest album The Spark.

There was a certain feeling of family when watching Enter Shikari perform with lots of fans following the band on the whole tour. Three shortened tracks including Ghandi Mate, Ghandi, Mothership and the band’s cover of Faithless’ Insomnia provided great atmosphere before playing an emotional rendition of Airfield. New unreleased track Stop The Clocks was then performed and you could tell that fans will soon get use to this track as it provided a really sweet beat.

The Quickfire Round was simply just amazing as it included Sorry, You’re Not A Winner, The Last Garrison, …Meltdown as well as Anaesthetist. Although their were a few technical hicks, Enter Shikari proved why they are one of the most exciting and professional bands out there.

For the encore, the classic Juggernauts and hit single Live Outside provided a perfect end to a special evening in Portsmouth.
