Anders L. Rasmussen talks new single ‘Skyward’!

When did the initial idea for your latest single come together?

The idea for “Skyward” came together early this year.Og was originally written for a song competition. That didn’t go as planned.. Even though the competition was just the spark, the song quickly grew into something that felt much more personal — a message to myself

How would you describe the track, to a reader that is unfamiliar with the band?

“Skyward” is a heartfelt song. Nothing fancy stuff hoping on, just good melodies that invites the listener into its groove.

Can you tell us a bit more about the meaning behind the track?

At its core, “Skyward” is about finding strength and perspective when things feel heavy or uncertain. It’s about looking up — literally and figuratively — and reminding yourself that there’s always light above the clouds. The song carries a quiet optimism, even in its melancholic moments.

How would you say that the track compares to anything you’ve done before?

Compared to my earlier singles, “Skyward” feels poppier and more straight to the point. A power pop song.

What was the hardest part about putting it together, and why?

Maybe it was making sure the production supported the feeling rather than overpowering it. I wanted the track to breathe..

Why should a reader check out the track?

If you’re drawn to honest, emotionally driven music that blends roots and rock influences, “Skyward” might speak to you. It’s both intimate and uplifting — the kind of song that hopefully connects on a personal level.

What else can you tell us about the track, that we haven’t covered in this interview?

The song was recorded and produced in Tromsø, and like much of my solo material, it reflects the landscape around me — wide, open, and a bit melancholic. There’s something about the northern light and space that always seeps into my music, and “Skyward” is no exception.
