Chris Pope and his Chords UK continue a rich, punchy vein of form with their latest EP, ‘Somewhere Beyond The Rainbow’. The opener and title track is armed with the unmistakable riff meets jabbed out Pop meets heartfelt R&B meets Chris Pope’s beautifully weathered and everyman Soho vocals. The semi-anthem is followed by the wonderfully retro and bubbling ‘Veronica Jones’ before the hazy hark back of a slow building and ultimately rocking ‘Before Elvis’. The final cut of four is the speedy whizz-bang of a darkly and beautifully delivered ‘All I Want Is Everything.’ Chris Pope and Chords UK continue to release top quality MOD kissed Pop gunned Rythym “N” Roll, and ‘Somewhere Beyond The Rainbow’ reinforces their top-shelf status.
