Interview: Milly Thimaras talks latest single ‘Lion’ and more

Milly Thimaras is a London born singer-songwriter and performance artist, known for her powerful vocals and theatrical storytelling through her songs. Milly has been described by audiences as “The Rockstar you don’t know about yet”. Her music has been compared to Fiona Apple, Hayley Williams with a sprinkle of Beth Hart. Through her formative years she would binge listen to Michael Jackson,  Aretha Franklin Aerosmith, Christina Aguilera & a variety of other eclectic artists to inspire her.

By the age of 13 she had performed at The London Palladium to a sold-out audience. She has since played at the famous Ronnie Scotts and sold out her London headline show at ‘Pizza Express Live” Soho.  

In 2020, when the world was closed, Milly opened the gates to her music and released ‘Run A Mile’, ‘Dark in Here’ and ‘Adrift’ – all of which received great acclaim from places such as BBC Radio stations. More recently Milly has played a main support slot at Awakening Festival’ She also supported Roachford in Scotland,  and played a sold out show at The Brook. 

After a sold out show at Heartbreakers Southampton, she is due to play many festivals this summer including Victorious. Milly has just released her new single ‘Lion’ on all major platforms.

Milly is set to return to her roots performing The Water Rats, London Kings Cross, on 15th September 2023 (tickets) before returning to her current city Southampton as she will perform at Papillion on 17th November 2023 (tickets).
