Come on Barbie let’s go party! — Scene Queen has returned with the playful and twisted new track ‘Barbie & Ken‘ out now via Hopeless Records and featuring none other than Punk trio Set It Off.

Bubbly, bonkers and fitting perfectly into the branded mould of what Scene Queen describes as “Bimbocore,” this candy-coated piece of Pop Punk has a poisonous core that oozes revenge and psycho energy.

Seemingly innocent beginnings quickly unravel in the blink of an eye as listeners are met with a toxic relationship and the thrill of danger. Scene Queen‘s unhinged yet saccharine sweet vocal delivery combined with Cody Carson‘s distinct, animated cries could possibly be the only harmonious thing in earshot.

Flitting erratically between pummelling drums and brutal guitars, the latter half of the single injecting blood-curdling screams and a barrage of manic laughter gives the track a distorted and edgy hyperpop gloss.

Speaking more on the track and recording with Cody of Set It Off, Scene Queen commented: “This song is the perfect combination of the crazy chaotic hyper feminine “Bimbocore” sound my music has combined with the high energy and theatrical sound of cinematics era Set It Off. I was so excited to get in a session with Cody in general but the collab that it morphed into was honestly more fun than I could’ve even hoped for.”

If you’re looking for an instant shot of chaos, why not be a doll and stream ‘Barbie & Ken,’ out now on all major platforms.
