Set It Off, the masters of shaking Alternative to its core have released their latest album Elsewhere today via Fearless Records.

The record sees the genre-bending trio branching out sonically in flashy, bold and fresh new ways, yet still remaining true to their signature style which fans have fallen for. With a bright and sublimely garish flair and aesthetic on the exterior which veers somewhat from previous releases, Elsewhere still manages to tap into a new layer of vulnerability never seen before in Set It Off’s discography, where each member has surmounted their demons and resurrected as happier and more full of life. Exploring varied moods and worlds, a fusion of upbeat and emotional unites in this transitional and forward-thinking release.

Recently the group released the unrestrained and punchy ‘Projector,’ in which the band emphasises that people need to “Listen more, talk less.” Fun and flamboyant neon gore visuals which were previously presented in the single ‘Skeleton‘ accompany a ghostly guitar hook, but the underlying message is no-nonsense and stamped out crystal clear.

Discussing the inspiration behind ‘Projector,’ singer/lyricist Cody Carson commented: “the amount of people that end up entering my life that are incapable of saying ‘I’m wrong,’ ‘I messed up,’ or ‘I’m sorry’ is baffling to me. Instead you’re met with finger pointing, excuses, and anger. They project their issues onto other people or even onto you just so they don’t have to face it themselves… I just want people to be able to turn this up as loud as it can go and vent about all those irritating people in their lives.”

The unapologetic track ‘Cut Off,’ and brutally honest ‘Cordial‘ are both contagiously catchy in their own unique way, with ‘Cordial‘ taking a more sophisticated and mature route. Sound experimentation can be found in the playful edginess of the distorted instrumentals on track ‘Dangerous,’ and the hypnotic and kooky ‘The Magic 8‘. ‘Better Than This,’ ties up the album, leaving listeners on a sentimental note, with the sincere lyrics and moving composition causing hearts to both sink and swoop.

Set It Off have just embarked on their Welcome to Elsewhere tour, which sees the band hitting stages throughout the U.S.

Elsewhere is evidence that Set It Off‘s essence of quality never fades, with a style so liberating and charged full of colour and electricity, they maintain their reputation of redefining the standards found in Emo and Pop-Punk.

Elsewhere is available to stream on all major platforms now.
