Interview: Breakthrough Even

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

We haven’t released a full album or EP since 2015 but our most recent single, ‘Requiem’ was released May 1st of this year!

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

It’s been a written demo for about 4 years now, we could never really figure out what to do with it and so we shelved it for a while until we began working with Christina Rotondo and figured we’d see what we could do with it.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

That’s a really tough question, right now I don’t think we are really interested in collaborating with a band right now.

How has your latest release been received?

It’s been awesome! Lots of great feedback and we recently crossed 100,000 streams on Spotify which was a really cool milestone for us!

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

The song was inspired by a book Josh read called ‘The Three Body Problem’ from author Cixin Liu. There are some thematic elements derived from that story, but the song itself became about self-reflection and how humanity as a whole can sometimes get ahead of itself and take the world for granted.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

Unfortunately with the way things are right now, touring isn’t something we are looking at doing just yet. We do want to tour at some point though!

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

Not really eyeing one particular venue, we just love playing music. If I had to pick one locally here in Atlanta, I’d have to say playing the Tabernacle would be an awesome experience. Hope to cross that off the list in the future!

What else can we expect from in 2020?

New music and more content! We have a few demos that we are finishing writing!
