Interview: Demi The Daredevil

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

It has been good I think given it was a DIY release! They like the songs, play em on repeat, repost the lyrics. I think the job is done in terms of connecting with peeps who care.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

Some of the drums were unusable so we had to use electronic drums. We layered real samples in there to give it the live feel though. No one has mentioned it? One of the songs the Boy who blocked the sun was written in a week when the producer Sean O’Keefe told me try to write the best song I’ve written and it ended up being added.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

The Used. Big time super fan of them. Many hours spent in my car just screaming their songs.

How has your latest release been received?

GOOD!

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

The meaning behind the EP was… observing that there’s this gap between magic and possibility in life, then grim reality where things just can exponentially get worse. I guess the struggle of the EP was getting out of this grim underground place and trying to get back to meaning and feeling better and possibility in goodness.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

Nothing is lined up. I wish there was. But it can’t happen without the word spreading more online first.

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

The Troubadour in LA.

What else can we expect from in 2020?

Well expect the start of an adventure release very early fall… Have you ever chosen the next track in a story album of a band?
