Glass Peaks shares new single ‘Never Really Left’

Fresh from selling out their first headline show of the year at St Pancras Old Church, London alternative indie rockers Glass Peaks have announced their debut EP ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side Of The Window’ – due out 1st May 2020. Today, sees them releasing their first music of the year with their first single from the EP – ‘Never Really Left’ – a post-grunge anthem tackling the toxicity that social media has on society as a whole.

“Someone once said to me ‘nobody really cares if you don’t go to the party’ and it’s so, so true. The same applies for this online world we live in. Nobody really cares that I went on a 5K run, or bought a pair of new shoes, or that I don’t believe in a God, or that I’m interested in politics. There’s a huge, delusional, false pretense that exists on the internet. ‘Never Really Left’ is written about how I can now look at that with different eyes. It’s a sarcastic song, I feel even in the vocal delivery you can tell that.” – Alfie Jefferies, vocalist / bassist

2019 saw the trio dive deep into their rehearsal space to write new music, pushing the boundaries further with their sound and what they had to say as a band. The outcome of that time is this EP – ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side Of The Window’.

“This EP will be a snapshot of everything ‘Glass Peaks’. It’ll be sad, at points it’ll be heavy, maybe a bit electronic, even political. But I promise it’ll be full of heart and energy.” – Jake Cox – guitar.

Last year saw Glass Peaks release four singles – the politically fueled dystopian post-punk ‘Architect’, the beautiful ‘Asbestos’, mental health wellness driven ‘Traffic’ and Stephen King inspired ‘Misery’. This new single – ‘Never Really Left’ is the next step for the band.

After taking a short break to craft their sound and live performance, Glass Peaks are back, starting off 2020 with a sold out show at London’s St Pancras Old Church. Along with the release of ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side Of The Window’, the band will be headlining a special EP launch at the Old Blue Last.
