Interview: Bexatron

London based glam rock artists Bexatron recently launched their single ‘Trash’.

‘Trash’ is the second release from their album ‘Hey You’ which launched in November 2018 with their first single ‘Dirty Disco’ receiving both critical acclaim and national radio rotation in the UK, Canada and US.

What began as a song with love as a theme, evolved into a hard-hitting track that speaks to what many now loathe, about modern society; the challenges of daily life, relationships both good and bad and the evils of manufacturing and multinational corporations. They all find their way into the trash and leave most of us trashed.

Bexatron have built a hard-core following of dedicated fans who celebrate the mix between the 80’s rock icons and the solid dose of post punk provocation.

Well known as a ’must see’ live band, their recordings lose none of the energy that they deliver on stage and their new single, ‘Trash’ will not disappoint. You can find ‘Trach’ on latest latest album ‘Hey You’ below!

We caught up with Bexatron as they talked about their latest single and alnum!

So how has the single Trash gone down with fans?

Gregster- Straight in to the bin from the feedback I’ve got. See what I did there? In all seriousness it’s always been live favourite so they can now put it on their deck and dance round the room in their bin liners. Sort of thing ‪Grace Jones would have done.

BEX: People like it…it’s a bit sleazy

It is from the album Hey You, what kind of response did you get with this?

GREGSTER: Long awaited happiness. We’d been playing it live for a year or so and then they suddenly could get their mits on it. So in some areas absolute jubilation.

Can you tell us something about the album no one else knows?

GREGSTER : The vinyl edition has the lyrics on the dust sleeve. It took Belle and I longer to spell check that than it took to record, mix and master the album.

BEX: Also gregster…”there ain’t no fade outs”

GREGSTER : Bex I’m guessing if people have listened to the album they would know that there are no fades?

What is your favourite track from the album?

GREGSTER : All of them. It was written to be 33 mins of great vibe rather than one 3 minute shot. I was gonna use another word there but it would have got bleeped. So the album as whole ,is my favourite. Until the next one.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

GREGSTER:  Pink Cigar. Why? I like their name and it maybe an opportunity for them buy me a drink back.

BEX: LCD Soundsystem… It’s dance music but it’s got the punk rebellious attitude…and fantastic musicianship

So you have a few shows coming up, what ones catches your eyes?

GREGSTER : Sat 1 June early slot ‪2.30 pm at Camden Assembly Rooms for first day of Camden Rocks. And that’s great because Camden really is our spiritual home. Please come along to either or both as our guests.

If you could play at any venue in the world, where would it be and why?

GREGSTER :What was known as Hammersmith Odeon. Seen my favourite bands there but in all my globetrotting I’ve never played there. Failing that Biddy Muligans Kilburn.

BEX: CBGB’s with Talking heads and The ‪Ramones…so I can change in the loo’s and scrawl BeXatron on the wall. Or Pyramid stage Glastonbury….well who wouldn’t

What’s the alternative live scene like in London at the moment?

GREGSTER : You tell me. Because we’re so busy don’t get out much these days. Torture Gardens still worth a peek
