EP Review: Saint Evil Street – Cursed

Awesome Foursome!

Bonjour tout le monde, I think I’ll stop there my friends before I really embarrass myself with another opportunity to show off my limited skills in French.

“All My Life” starts this compact and bijou little number from Saint Evil Street and I instantly recall Manic Street Preachers circa A Design For Life, as these new kids on the block take their first intrepid steps into the dizzying world of music. Harnessing their influence from the ability and inability of humans to live harmoniously, endless suffering, scaremongering, anxiety, depression consuming our existence, we take a stroll through this four track.

Lightly seasoned, tingle your taste buds with tunes that dance on your tongue, this is an excellent effort from our French cousins.

We continue with “The Wolf Behind the Door” and “Lying with The Truth” as we discuss the frailties and fractures, the truths and untruths -too many white lies can lead to colour blindness.

We close this brief encounter with “Angry Smile” and the telling line

“Why can’t you be the silence in my scream?”

Indicative of a more thorough rationale than as maybe expected, but that my friends is the very nature of humanity.

Right let me hear you,

Je suis en rock star, je avais en residence, je habiter la, a la south of France….

Voulez vous?  Yes please.

Saint Evil Street – Cursed out now on self-release.
