Interview: Chrysarmonia

Four piece Italian alternative hard rock band Chrysarmonia recently released their EP ‘Metamorphosis’. The EP talks about real experiences, real persons, they like to tell about true stories.  Check out the EP below!

We managed to catch up with vocalist Vania Guarini as she talked about the band’s latest EP and more!

So how has the release of Metamorphosis gone down with fans so far?

I must say that it was a great surprise for us to receive so many positive comments from the people who were able to hear our EP “Metamorphosis”. As you know we are not professional musicians, ours is an immense passion. We don’t have a manager or a traditional label that can promote our record and our image. We are using social media, asking our friends to share, we ask some local radio to play our songs, we write to the fanzines and we play as much as possible during the contests and festivals to make ourselves known by as many people as possible.

Can you tell something about the EP no one else knows?

Actually this EP was designed as a Test, we didn’t even think of publishing it. It had to be a recording for our use. Then, the cultural association that assisted us during the EP production (After Life Music Dimension) advised us to publish it and see if it could please the public.

What was your favourite moment making this EP?

It was during the optimization of the song, when I heard everything in the right place, I felt it envelops me.

So what’s next for you? Will you be releasing an album or another EP anytime soon?

Of course! We are already working on new songs, with the idea of making an LP by 2020, which will include those of the EP plus at least 4 other tracks. This time it won’t be a test, so we’ll work more on sounds.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Obviously I answer this question in a very personal way, but without a doubt ALTER BRIDGE, since they are my greatest source of inspiration

Will you be touring at all this year?Answer: we really hope so! we are participating at Emergenza Festival contest and we hope to go ahead with the semi-finals to be held next 3 April. fingers crossedMeanwhile we propose ourselves as an opening band.

If you could play at any venue, where would it be and why?

Well, if I have to tell you the truth, I would really like to play at Alcatraz in Milan. If we pass the semifinals on April 3rd at Legend Club (Milan) we can play at Alcatraz. For all of us it would really be a dream come true.

What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?

Music and more Music! this is because we all Chrysarmonia have a job, even a demanding one (10 hours a day or more). This is why music will always and only be a matter of passion for us. I can say that it is our strength, we are free from compromises that inevitably derive from having to earn money to live. And with music, it doesn’t seem to me that there are bigger profits in those years, if we don’t talk about the “old” great bands, or the sacred monsters. I can’t see the music golden era back… this is sad, but is the reality.
