Her abilities as a  singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist are unmatched in comparison to some other artist out there. With her brilliant musical talents her resume is quite impressive, with  having played for several of the today’s top artists in the music industry Beyonce, Imagine Dragons, 2NE1, Rhye just to Name a few. Dani is now undertaking her own original music. Taking  Influence by her vast array of musical tastes from RNB, soul, Pop Dance and EDM her first hit BLACKOUT from the upcoming album, DREAMLAND, set for release in 2019.

About her current HIT:  Riding high on multiple charts…”Blackout” touches on a very delicate battle between the subconscious and conscious states of mind, which is brought to life in the elemental music video that accompanies the song. Laced with acoustic and electronic instruments, the hip-hop influenced beat provides a perfect musical bed for DANi’s catchy melodies to shine over. Produced by David Moon and DANiiVORY, “Blackout’ is the first new music released from DANiiVORY since her single, Slippen, in 2015. Check out Blackout below!

We managed to catch up with DANiiVORY as she talked about her latest single and more!

So how has the release of your singles Blackout and Little White Lie gone down with fans so far?

I’ve gotten an extremely positive response with BLACKOUT so far! It’s been charting on the Starfleet DJ pool (peaked at #6), competing with other big names like Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey. I’m getting radio play and promo in Italy and Korea at the moment. It’s gotten a bunch of playlist love on Spotify. I even had a fan make a lyric video, which was so flattering. LITTLE WHITE LIE is set for release on April 19, 2019…so I will let you know in a month how that’s going:)

Can you tell us something about the single no one else knows?

I wrote the song on a mini usb MIDI keyboard with just a piano sample and my vocal in my hotel room in Vancouver, Canada while I was on tour with Gallant a year and a half ago. It started out half as fast and when I got in the studio with my co-producer we doubled the tempo. It is also roughly based on a true story, but I, of course, took a lot of creative lyrical liberty!
So what’s next for you, have you got an EP/album planned for 2019?
My original goal with my current project was to release an EP; however, I have more songs than a traditional EP…so I decided to release a full album. The album is called “DREAMLAND”. I will be releasing individual songs from the album throughout the first half of this year, and release the entire album sometime in the Fall.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
I would love to work on a song with John Mayer. I really respect and admire his songwriting. I am also in love with his guitar playing. He has written some of my favorite songs not only for his own music but for other artists.

Will you be on tour at all in 2019 or any festivals lined up?

I will most likely be touring with a band I play in called “Rhye” throughout the Spring and Summer. I will start playing my original music around town in Nashville once I release a few more songs from the album. I anticipate that being sometime late summer/early fall. I can’t wait to get out there and play my new music live!

What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?

I spend a lot of time with my family these days especially since I just had a baby girl two months ago. My husband makes the best grilled chicken wings, so we have friends over and BBQ quite a bit and love to play UNO. I also love watching documentaries and TV series based on history (anything Roman, Greek, or has to do with Kings and Queens…I’m a hopeless romantic). I enjoy exercising (jogging and hiking), essential oils, drinking tea and coffee, traveling and sight seeing, reading, and dancing. I also love making jewelry (which is a big one). I have a jewelry company called “Trust Me Jewels” in which I make natural cut gemstone/crystal jewelry in a raw copper setting.

What’s the live scene like in Nashville at the moment?

I’m honestly still trying to figure this out myself! The only time I’ve played in Nashville was when I was passing through with a tour I was on either at The Ryman Auditorium or The Bridgestone Arena. I’m still very new to Nashville and haven’t had a chance to get out much since moving there a few months ago. I hope to check it out more once I’m back in town this summer. I hear the Bluebird Cafe is the place to be for new songwriters!
