2000Trees announces its first bands for 2019

Following on from its recent win in December 2018 as the Best Medium Sized Festival in the UK at the UK Festival Awards, 2000trees Festival returns. The three day music festival will take place on Thursday 11th July, Friday 12th July and Saturday 13th July at Upcote Farm near Cheltenham, and the first band announcement is here!

We have 33 bands to shout about and to start it all off, headlining the main stage on the Friday 12th July, on their first ever time playing, are the mighty You Me At Six.

Since forming as teenagers in Weybridge, Surrey, You Me At Six have notched up a list of considerable achievements. Four UK Gold Records, five Top Ten albums in the UK including Number One album ‘Cavalier Youth’, sold out UK headline arena tours, and an unparalleled 15 consecutive A-List singles on BBC Radio One. Not to mention also multiple sold-out US headline tours, a Number One rock song in the UK & Australia and Top Five Rock Radio track in North America in ‘Room To Breathe’. Having sold over 65,000 tickets in the UK this year in support of new album ‘VI’ and the 10th anniversary of debut album ‘Take Off Your Colours’, You Me At Six are undoubted heavyweights in the live arena. Their recent headline tour was met with phenomenal demand, selling out four months in advance, and in just twenty minutes. As well as gracing the headliner slot at 2000trees Festival, 2019 will see the band take their live show to both Europe and North America. From You Me At Six  “We’re really looking forward to headlining 2000trees Festival this summer. We’ve heard many amazing things about the festival, in particular it’s unrivalled atmosphere and location. The lineup is always superb, so it’s going to be a pleasure to be a part of things this year. It’s going to be a special show.”

Joining You Me At Six will be the incredible Every Time I Die, who are performing at 2000trees Festival for the first time, AND will be performing ‘Hot Damn’ in full (along with some other bangers) as headliners on The Cave stage on Saturday. “Hot Damn! has always been the one that put us on people’s radars and it was the one that was out the first time we came to the UK, so that’s a nice little throwback.” says singer Keith Buckley.   “When festivals are able to do something like this and get such a diverse lineup and secure a venue outdoors, it feels like something big. When you’re going to one of these as a fan of music and your whole surroundings feel so much larger than life it makes you want to enjoy the music. It make you really open to hearing new bands. You’re going to need these festivals, whether it’s to feed a fanbase or to make one. So I think it’s extremely important for the scene.”

Sheffield’s While She Sleeps will headline the Cave Stage on the Thursday. The band are on the verge of releasing their fourth album ‘SO WHAT?’ on March 1st, which is the follow up to 2017’s Top Ten UK chart album ‘You Are We’. Front man Loz confirming our suspicions about the set – “Last time we played the festival it was chaos. Expect nothing less this time around.”

Returning festival hero Jamie Lenman will be doing something very different at 2000trees Festival this year. He will be curating, opening and closing his very own stage and mini festival, Lenmania 2, on the Axiom Stage on the Thursday – being the first act to be performing at this years event, on the Thursday early afternoon. Jamie will have a host of bands on the stage he (and 2000trees) loves, with more details being announced very soon about the full line up.

A bit from Jamie Lenman  “I’m super excited to be bringing back Lenmania with a new twist and 2000trees is the perfect place to do it – a festival within a festival! The lineup of bands we’ve put together is completely awesome, from old buddies to new discoveries and everything in between, and it’s been great to get Trees’ input so we can assemble the best bill possible. It’s going to be immense!”

From a 2000trees Festival regular, to a HUGELY anticipated first timer, Frank Iero will be headlining the Axiom Stage on the Saturday with his band Frank Iero And The Future Violents in what is sure to be one of THE sets of the weekend. From Frank – “I’m so excited to be playing 2000trees festival! i’ve heard so much about it from friends that played in the past but i’ve never had the pleasure personally. I’m looking forward to making some memories of my own next year.”ALL the bands being announced today are:
You Me At Six (Friday headliner) / Every Time I Die (playing “Hot Damn” + hits) / While She Sleeps / Frank Iero And The Future Violents / Therapy? / Comeback Kid / Jamie Lenman (headlining and curating Lenmania II) / Hands Like Houses / Single Mothers / Cavetown / Estrons / Martha / Milk Teeth / Puppy / Muncie Girls / GroundCulture / Higher Power / Loathe / Gouge Away / Nervus / Heavy Lungs / MØL / Indigo Lo / LICE / The Drew Thompson Foundation / Spielbergs / Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam / Imperial Leisure / Orchards / Frauds / Phoxjaw / Indoor Pets / False Advertising

From 2000trees Festival organiser and main man James Scarlett – “With 33 bands announced today there is a lot I’m excited about and I’d definitely like to point people in the direction of my new favourite band Gouge Away – they are absolutely incredible. Also a shout out is definitely needed for Every Time I Die who are playing their Hot Damn! album in full for the first (and probably only) time. As well as playing the album, they’re also going to smash us with some of their hits, so this will be a very special set for sure. And last but not least, Jamie Lenman has agreed to bring Lenmania to 2000trees and will be taking over the Axiom Stage all day on the Thursday with a selection of his favourite acts. In fact, he’ll be the very first act of the entire festival playing a special acoustic set and will also headline the stage with his full rock show. I can’t wait!”
