** Supporting PVMNTS

SHADED are: Matt East, Callum Irons and Dan Bradberry. Check out A Familiar Love below!

We caught up with frontman Matt as he talked about the upcoming tour and more!

So how pumped are you for your upcoming tour supporting PVMNTS?

Yeah really excited! We’re touring with some great bands, playing some really cool venues so it’s going to be a great time, for sure.

Are you good friends with the band at all?

This will be our first time meeting them actually! We’ve heard nothing but great things so i’m sure touring with them is going to be super easy-going and a lot of fun.

How has the release of A Familiar Love gone down with fans?

We’re pretty overwhelmed with the response haha! We put so much into the record so to know that people are feeling it the same way that we do is such a great feeling.

Can you tell us something about the release no one else knows?

Straight off the bat, ‘Tell Me’, ‘A Familiar Love’ and ‘You.’ were written over a year ago! We hammered those songs out on the same day that we finished mastering our first EP… we don’t really stop or shut off haha!

What is your favourite track from the EP?

I think we’ve all said that, if we had to choose, it would be ‘You.’. We’re all huge fans of pop music and have been looking at various ways of incorporating those influences into our sound. I think this song was a great opportunity for us to do that and give people an idea of the kind of direction we’re taking.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Haha that’s a tough question! There’s so many artists that we look up to and draw influence from. I think, if I had to say one, personally i’d really enjoy writing with Brendon Urie. Not only is he one of the most versatile vocalists around at the moment, but he’s also a brilliant song writer and instrumentalist.

What do you get up to in your spare time?

We’re big into our football so we go to a lot of live games. We’re writing and demoing quite a lot in our spare time as well – we never really shut off from our music haha! But other than that, in my own personal time, I play a lot of golf, football, video games, spending time with family and friends – pretty standard stuff haha. Nothing too exciting!
