Check out Pancakes below!

We caught up with the band as they talked about their latest single and more!

How has the release of Pancakes initially gone down?

At the time of writing this, it’s been about 1.5 days since the release: but it’s gone amazingly well! The reception to the song and video has been better than for anything else we’ve previously done. People are enjoying, commenting and sharing and pre-ordering the album too, which is so humbling for us!

Can you tell us something about the single no one else knows?

If you listen very carefully you can hear Brad fart during the second verse.

How pumped are you for the release of Once More With Feeling?

We are totally pumped. It’s been a while since we released ‘Tabula Rasa’, and we’ve had a lot of the songs on this album for over a year now so we’re itching for people to hear them. The album has shaped up really well, better than any of us thought – and so having it available in a physical format will be amazing. We’ve done a lot of the production ourselves and all artwork was a joint collaboration as a band – so it’s been a real DIY experience and we just hope people enjoy it!

What’s your favourite track from the album?

Steve – Once More With Feeling

Brad – Night Rainbow

Paul – Foxes

“Foxes” has surprised everyone. It was the addition of some extra guitar lines, that I added back in March when I was snowed in, that changed the whole vibe and just lifted the song. It’ll be our next single so look out for that one!

So you will also be on tour in the UK soon, what venue are you most looking forward to playing?

It’s always nice to play your hometown and Open Club Room is a GREAT venue. Such amazing sound on stage and out front, so it’s a pleasure to play there. But equally we’re excited to play new towns and venues and we hear the venue Paradiddles in Worcester is very small, so those venues are always a lot of fun!

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

A collaboration with Arcane Roots would be immense as those guys can riff and groove so well. Also Don Broco would be fun too – those guys know how to have fun with their music and that’s infectious.

What was the first ever gig you went to?

Mine (Steve’s) was a band called Pitchshifter at the Waterfront in Norwich. It was packed and I went a long with a friend who had “gig experience” so we were right at the front, centre. My ribs were bruised for weeks after that, but it was a cool experience. The band were pretty terrible to be honest, but it was certainly a fond memory!

What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?

Unfortunately we all have to work regular jobs, so that takes up most of our spare time! But Paul has recently moved house so he’s turned into a DIY guru, Brad runs a tearoom, Christian is re-locating to London to be a hip and trendy graphic designer and Steve is about to return to his studies at Open University, studying Environmental Science!
