Album Review: Sick ‘N’ Beautiful – Element Of Sex

Gwar, Lordi, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Alice Cooper and all the other Shock-Rock outfits can all glance worryingly back over their shoulder pads because there’s a new show in town. Sick ‘N’ Beautiful are due to ejaculate their album all over Mother Earth and they’re cumming in fast. The intergalactic sluts kick off with the space panther rocker ‘Fire True’. The vocals are a glorious collage of Fergie, Manson with a pinch of Sunset Strip note holding. The song (and album) are a cocktail of the Devil’s best and worst music collection. Rock, Trash, Pop, Electro, Metal and Industrial are all slashed and burned on this beautiful bastardisation of a release. ‘Megalomaniacall’ surfaces like an explosion in a firework factory, bright bangs, pops, whizzes and it indiscriminately attacks the stunned senses. A rocking ‘All Wanna Go To Heaven’ is followed by the Electro-Industrial nightmare of ‘Hellawake’. ‘Slam’ is WWE walk on in the making while ‘HeXxX (The Element Of Sex)’ is as exactly as it looks, crass, loud and a carnal carnival rhyming chorus. ‘New Witch 666 (rising)’ has a Disney old lady witch in a black cape, holding an apple vocal style while the song bounces in and out of styles like a schizophrenic at a jumble sale. Finally, a semi-atmospheric ‘Heart December’ and the flickering strip club neon of ‘C*mmunion’ ends this Jim Beam swigging, car crashing, ET shooting and prostitute provocating album. Call the PMRC priests cause satan’s back and he’s a she, motherfucker.
