Interview: The Fratellis’ Jon Fratelli talks upcoming album

From L – R: Mince, Jon and Barry

Playful, punchy and purposefully relaxed, The Fratellis are back. The band are set to release their upcoming album In Your Own Sweet Time on 16th March via Cooking Vinyl. Jon (vocals/guitar/piano), Barry (bass) and Mince Fratelli (drums) are roaring into their second decade with a fifth album that plays to their strengths while also pushing their sound in vivid new directions. Check out Stand up Tragedy from the album below!

Before they began recording the new album, The Fratellis had some past glories to revisit. At the end of 2016, they undertook a 16-date UK tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Costello Music. It was the debut album that roared: 83 weeks in the charts, begetter of a Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act, home of the deathless, dauntless Chelsea Dagger.

The Fratellis head out on a UK tour on 22nd March and begin at Liverpool’s Olympia and ends at Glasgow’s Barrowland on 31st March before heading out to North America in April/May. The band have also got a number of festivals lined up including Texfest on 1st July and Eklectica Festival on 9th September.

We managed to catch up with lead singer Jon Fratelli (John Lawler) for a phone call in LA, as he talked about the upcoming album, UK tour and much more!
