We managed to catch up with the band as they talk about the tour with Adam Ant, latest music and more!

So what’s it like performing on the same stage as Adam Ant?

Incredible. We’re all huge fans of Adams and we have so much respect for him as an artist, so it feel like an honor to share the stage with him.

So you are currently on tour with Adam again, what has been your favourite moment on tour?

Playing at the House of Blues in Cleveland was awesome. We all grew up going to see bands at HOB, so it was great getting finally play a sold-out show there. Earlier this year, we also opened for Adam at Royal Albert Hall in London. It was a dream come true to realize that we were playing the same stage that so many of our idols have played.

You are also playing the UK again soon, do you find it different playing in other countries rather than the US?

Yeah it’s definitely a different vibe in the UK. UK audiences are more reserved and tend to just want to take in what they’re hearing because they’re all about the music.

How has the release of Glitter City gone so far with fans?

It’s been great. The response from fans has been amazing and encouraging and we’re hoping to keep that going on our next record.

Tell us something about the album no one knows.

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened on tour?

So far we’ve had a few crazy experiences. When we headed out on our current tour, we left behind a huge wildfire in our hometown of Los Angeles and then we dodged two major hurricanes before we met up with Adam in New York City to start the tour. But the craziest was a night in Manchester where we stayed at a sort of tavern and we were immediately thrown off when we walked in because there were Christmas decorations up in the middle of May, lol! We didn’t think too much of it, but later on that night we noticed our door didn’t lock and when we tried to move our beds together, we found blood splattered on the walls and decided to try to not-so-gracefully sneak out at 4:30 am.

If you could work with any artist or band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Lady GaGa. She’s a great performer and song writer and it would be great to work with such a talented and strong women.

How was it being featured in the film Yoga Hosers?

It was awesome. We’re big fans of Kevin Smith and grew up with his movies and getting the opportunity to work with him especially on a movie that tells the story of two bad-ass teenage girls was an amazing experience.

What’s the alternative music scene like in LA?

Its ok depending on which parts of LA you’re in. Some scenes are still stuck in time and tend to lean too 80s while others are a little too shoegazy for our style, but there are definitely some great local bands and venues in the scene for sure.

What was your first gig you all ever attended?

V-Adam Ant when I was like a year old.
