South Wales Rockers The Now Turn Up The Glam In New Album ‘Moments In Motion’

South-Wales band The Now are tearing up the rock scene, but they make sure to add a dosing of glittering glam and dance to the mix on their brand-new album ‘Moments In Motion.’ Arriving on the back of milestone shows supporting the likes of Madness, their sophomore effort is full of punchy choruses, swaggering guitars, crashing drums, and a glossy new direction for the group.

Across twelve tracks, The Now move beyond the classic rock foundations of their 2024 debut, ‘Too Hot To Handle’, embracing a more dance-driven sound packed with infectious grooves and larger-than-life hooks. Drawing on the spirit of Prince, Michael Jackson and ABBA, the band bring a fresh sense of movement to their guitar-heavy sound without losing the grit and attitude that made them stand out in the first place.

Tracks like ‘Fake It Until You Lose It’ and ‘Hot Mind’ deliver plenty of attitude, while ‘Drug’ explores the intoxicating highs and destructive lows of a toxic relationship. There’s emotional depth, too, with ‘Wild Curse’ offering a cinematic tale of fate and devotion, and ‘Breathe’ providing a heartfelt tribute to the relative who first inspired frontman Shane Callaghan’s musical journey.

Meanwhile, ‘Something Beautiful’ finds hope in the aftermath of heartbreak, showing a more vulnerable side to the band. The polished production gives the album a contemporary edge, balancing crashing guitars and driving drums with a newfound emphasis on melody and rhythm.

It’s a sound that feels tailor-made for festival stages and sweaty, packed-out venues, but the more personal songwriting ensures there’s substance beneath the sheen.‘Moments In Motion’ is a bright and confident step forward, capturing a band unafraid to experiment while keeping their rock ’n’ roll spirit firmly intact. Bigger, bolder and bursting with energy, The Now are hitting their stride.
