Boomtown Reveals BICEP & NOISIA Closing Sets for 2027 // Plus plans for “The Transportal” and Anara Forest Reimagining

Following a landmark year of Radical Redesign, Boomtown has revealed the first exciting details for its next chapter, WILD STYLE, taking place from 11th – 15th August 2027 at Matterley Estate, Hampshire.

Two huge closing performances have been confirmed, with BICEP set to bring the legendary Lion’s Den stage to a spectacular finale, while NOISIA will close out the mighty HYDRO XL.

Following the global success of their acclaimed and ambitious live shows, the Belfast-born duo BICEP have just returned with new music. With their first new album in 5 years, ‘Slug’, slated for release in January next year, their Lion’s Den closing set promises to be a truly defining moment of 2027. Speaking about this long-awaited appearance at Boomtown, Bicep said: “After years of trying to make it work, we are very excited to finally be bringing the live show to Boomtown to close the Lions Den in 2027”

Meanwhile, the return of NOISIA marks a particularly special moment for Boomtown. Widely regarded as pioneers of modern bass music, the Dutch trio just announced their surprise reunion, four years after their emotional farewell and final UK show on the Origin stage at Boomtown 2022. Now making music together again and preparing for their first comeback shows, their return to Boomtown will see three of the genre’s most influential producers take control of the colossal green hydrogen-powered HYDRO XL stage for a huge closing set. Reflecting on their last Boomtown show and what it means to be back together in 2027, Thijs from Noisia said: “The last time I played Boomtown was during our farewell tour. I remember looking out at 35,000 people filling the entire bowl, there to say goodbye to us. It was an incredible moment, but all I could think was that it should have been the three of us on that stage. So it feels pretty special that we get to come back and play Boomtown together after all.”

With this first taste of the 2027 programme, Boomtown has also confirmed that the Phase 1 line-up announcement will land on Thursday 26th November.

Beyond the music, Boomtown’s immersive world continues to evolve, with work beginning on a major reimagining of Anara Forest, a magical space brimming with hidden discoveries and a mesmerising 360° audio-visual journey that dances between the trees.

The 2027 edition also sees ambitious plans unfolding for “The Transportal” which will effortlessly deliver citizens all the way up Hippy Highway. Connecting Downtown in the festival’s bowl with Copperwood Heights and Thrutopia on the Hilltop, this ambitious new creative production flair will transform the journey between districts into a unique experience in its own right. With the city map sprawling across the spectacular natural landscape of the South Downs, this will be another example of Boomtown’s unparalleled approach to immersive world-building and will be powered by green energy (or magic?).

The festival’s 17th edition in 2026 saw Boomtown expand back across the rolling hills and valleys, natural amphitheatres and sprawling woodlands of its Hampshire home. A complete reimagining of the city brought together six districts, 12 main stages, more than 50 hidden venues and thousands of musicians, actors, performers, artists, makers and creatives. The event has heralded a huge success after tickets sold out in record time, and has scooped the most shortlist nominations of any festival at the UK Festival Awards 2026 – where Boomtown is up for Large Festival of the Year, The Green Award, Tech Innovation, Production, and Infrastructure categories.

After a year dedicated to Radical Redesign, the next chapter asks where Boomtown goes once the rules have been rewritten. With a transformed city ready to evolve once again, a bold new story is beginning for its 77,000 citizens.
