Dead Defined talk new single ‘One Life’!

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

The response has been incredible. My latest single, One Life, has connected with listeners in a way I hoped it would. The song tackles mental health from a place of hope and resilience, and hearing stories from people who relate to the message has been the most rewarding part. After surpassing 5 million streams across my catalog as Dead Defined, it’s motivating to see new music continue to find an audience around the world.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

One thing most people don’t know is that parts of One Life were inspired by real conversations I’ve had with friends and people around me who have struggled silently with their mental health. The song wasn’t written to preach or provide answers. It was written to remind people that their story isn’t over yet.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Without question, it would be Alter Bridge. Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy have been huge influences on me as both a songwriter and vocalist. They’ve always managed to combine powerful melodies with meaningful lyrics, which is something I strive for in my own music.

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the release?

One Life is about perspective. We all face setbacks, loss, anxiety, and moments where life feels overwhelming. The song is a reminder that we only get one shot at this life, so we shouldn’t waste it living in fear or letting our struggles define us. While the song carries subtle Christian themes, the overall message is universal: keep going, keep believing, and don’t give up on yourself.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

At the moment there are no official tour dates to announce. Dead Defined has primarily been a studio-based project, but I’m always open to opportunities to bring the music to a live audience in the future. Right now the focus is on releasing new music and growing the project even further.

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

If I had the opportunity, I’d love to play at Massey Hall in Toronto. It’s one of Canada’s most iconic venues, and there’s a sense of history there that every musician can appreciate. To share original music on that stage would be a special moment.

What else can we expect from you in 2026?

More music, more content, and more opportunities to connect with listeners. After taking time to focus on writing and refining the Dead Defined sound, I feel more inspired than ever. Fans can expect additional singles, new media appearances, and continued efforts to use music as a platform to promote positive conversations around mental health.
