So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?
The four songs we have out right now are doing really well. I’ll See You in the Stars has been the one with the most traction, which is awesome because that song wasn’t even going to be recorded or put out online. It was one of those “maybe later” tracks that almost got shelved. Goes to show… you never know how people are going to respond if you don’t keep putting all your music out there. Even the ones you’re unsure of.
Our new Deep Star video has been getting a lot of attention and opening up meetings for us, so that’s been really exciting. It’s cool to see the work pay off and the right people start paying attention.
Tell us something about the release no one knows?
All four songs out have been recorded in-house by our guitar player Jeff Kittlitz. We jam and record all our tunes at Jeff’s house. It’s basically our studio, our hangout, and our creative home all in one. Of course, we’ve had the help of Phil Anderson, Maor Appelbaum, and Joel Wanasek on mixing and mastering, but the raw recording is all us. We’re blessed and lucky to have that setup. It means we can work on our own schedule, keep the vibe comfortable, and really take the time to get things right without the pressure of a studio clock ticking.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
This one is forever changing, and honestly we’d love to collaborate with everyone out there. But today? Muddy Waters. It would have been an honor to even sit in a room and just witness the magic. Working with someone who was such an important figure at such an interesting point in the timeline of music… learning about the blues and the way he created his art… that would have been an unreal experience. The blues is at the root of everything heavy, and Muddy Waters is one of the reasons any of us pick up a guitar in the first place.
Can you tell us about the meaning behind the release?
The meaning behind Deep Star is that she is our savior. An otherworldly woman here to save our planet and put love and light back into our hearts. In reality, it seems to be what we actually need right now. Love. So although the story is fantasy, it’s also pretty realistic when you think about it. The world could use someone like that. We all could. That’s what makes the song hit the way it does. It’s escapism with truth underneath it.
What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?
We’re waiting on a few emails right now to see if we land some of the Canadian festivals this year. We’re also planning some hometown shows in Edmonton along with a Toronto run and some dates in the Vancouver area. Everything is in the planning phase right now, so nothing is set in stone yet, but the wheels are turning and we’re making moves. We want to get out there as much as possible and put this music in front of new crowds.
What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?
Maybe this isn’t the best answer, but honestly, we just want to play every venue out there. Explore the world and share our art with anyone who’ll listen. That’s the dream. But if we had to pick one place, it would be Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. The setting, the history, the energy of that place… performing there would be something you’d carry with you forever.
What else can we expect from you in 2026?
We’ve got seven songs recorded and we’re putting that out as our debut album on vinyl. That’s a big one for us. We’ve also released a music video for every single so far, which has been huge for us visually. We’ll be doing a single release first from the album with a music video, and then the full thing drops. It’s all in the works as we speak. There’s a lot of energy behind it, and we can’t wait for people to hear everything together as a body of work. Set to be released Spring/Summer 2026. It’s going to be a big year.
