New Music Video From Jane Doe

Jane Doe is an example why Women Rule Rock N Roll!  Fronted by a defiant, opinionated, incredibly smart and compassionate woman named Izzy – she is singing, screaming, and messaging to entire generations to which she’s connected to while echoing sounds of the Rock Ladies of the 80s.  Jane Doe is not your average band, it’s an authentic woven sound that is a unique twist on the Rock N Roll landscape. Their new music video  “The Menu” is the hard-hitting track from the band’s sophomore album Found;  it encompasses a powerful and symbolic shedding of the past, where vulnerability is forged into unshakable strength.

As best put by the lead singer Izzy herself, “I took back my agency and started a new chapter. We feel like so many people can relate to the need for a fresh start. Shaving my head on camera was really freeing.  No one needs to conform to ‘traditional’ notions of beauty or image. This song is about combating that archaic thought process.”  Directed by Ava Taulere, the music video strikes a dynamic balance between moments of chaos and calm. It opens with a face-melting guitar riff and salty, defiant lyrics, as the camera locks on the poised profile of lead singer Izzy –  still, focused, and poised.  As the song progresses, the track explodes with thumping bass, kinetic drums, and soul-shaking vocals.  Izzy’s hands come into frame, chopping her hair off until she’s handed an electric razor and shaves the rest of her head; (Yes she actually shaves her real hair off) – symbolic shedding of the past.

The band is a Square Peg, a wave of people who honour and identify with the past and mould the future!  Make sure to follow them on social media for exclusive behind the scenes looks and updates.
