Alt-pop artist Devon recently released his boldest and most emotionally charged single yet, ‘THIS IS WHERE IM GOING TO DIE’, alongside the announcement of his largest UK headline tour to date this autumn.
Built on soaring production and deeply personal lyricism, the new single captures a stark reflection of life in a small town and the anxieties that can arise when it feels like everyone around you is moving on.
Devon was born, raised, and resides in a small village in the Forest of Dean, a region in the South West of England. His sound, self-produced from his bedroom out of both necessity and passion, reflects the raw emotion and relentless creativity that defines his artistry. The song is a rallying cry for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in their hometown — and a powerful moment of catharsis. With strong DIY roots and a dedicated team of close friends by his side, Devon has created an immersive live experience that reflects the same heart and soul found in his music. And now, with ‘THIS IS WHERE IM GOING TO TOUR’, he’s ready to bring it to his biggest audiences yet.
The six-date run in November 2025 will see Devon headline iconic venues including London’s Colours and Bristol’s Thekla—places he once stood in as a fan.
In 2024, Devon hit major milestones supporting Olly Murs, Anne-Marie, and Circa Waves, playing to packed crowds across the UK. Now, 2025 is set to raise the bar even higher. This summer, he’ll perform to over 40,000 fans as direct support for McFly on their huge UK outdoor tour including a date at Southampton’s Summer Sessions on Sunday 22nd June. He’s also putting the finishing touches on a brand new mixtape, set for release later this year.
We caught up with Devon as spoke about his upcoming Summer Sessions show supporting McFly, latest single and more!
How much are you looking forward to playing Southampton Summer Sessions next month alongside McFly?
Yeah, crazy! I love Southampton, love playing there, I’ve played there once before so it’s cool to come back. I’m really looking forward to it.
How would you think the McFly fan base will react to your music?
Do you know what, I think it’s interesting because last year I support Anne-Marie and Olly Murs so again weirdly that was so out of place compared to our genres but the audience were so receptive so it was such a cool thing to put something on stage when they were expecting super pop music. When this show (Southampton Summer Sessions) came about, it felt a little bit closer to the mark. I’m excited to play to McFly’s audience.
How has the release of your latest single ‘THIS IS WHERE IM GOING TO DIE’ gone down with fans so far?
Yeah it’s been good – out of all my songs I’ve put out, it feels very much it has struck a chord more than the others. More in the way how people related to it – I had a message from someone in Texas who is from a small town out there and he really related to it. It feels like that universal experience of living in a small town has really connected with this song and it feels special.
Will you be releasing an EP or album any time soon?
There is a project in the line, it’s not an album but it’s a project that will hopefully drop before my headline tour around Autumn time. It’s not done yet but we’re very free flowing this year.
If you could work with any artist or band on a new song, who would it be and why?
It kind of changes every time, as I’m such a fan of so many people but if I could just say a few it would be twenty one pilots who have been a huge inspiration from me day one, But yeah I’m listening to Faye Webster and Little Simz.
