Arctic Dreams talk ‘Frozen Little Beings’!

When did the initial idea for your latest single come together?

[ALEX_Y]: Well, I’ve wanted to write a song about the Dyatlov group for a long time. I watched a bunch of documentaries and I came up with the idea.

How would you describe the track, to a reader that is unfamiliar with the band?

[ALEX_Y]: A powerful metal attack that tells of the panic that overtakes the protagonists when they encounter an unknown force.

Can you tell us a bit more about the meaning behind the track?

[ALEX_Y]:  In 1959 in the Soviet Union, in the mountains of the Northern Urals, a group of tourists did not return from a winter hike. A couple of months later, their bodies were found with various horrific injuries and to this day no one knows what happened to them.

How would you say that the track compares to anything you’ve done before?

[ALEX_Y]:Honestly? It’s radically different.)) Frozen Little Beings is material from the new second album. If the first album was more industrial and gothic, on the new album we decided to push the boundaries. The new material is more guitar based, these parts are very diverse. I think we have reached a new level.

What was the hardest part about putting it together, and why?

[ALEX_Y]: Well, as far as Frozen Little Beings is concerned, it wasn’t that hard. We got it on the same page. We quickly recorded all the parts and quickly mixed the final material.

Why should a reader check out the track?

[ALEX_Y]: Because it’s a story told, essentially, like a fairy tale. With powerful guitar riffs and an electronic part that takes the listener into a frosty night in the mountains of the Northern Urals.

What else can you tell us about the track, that we haven’t covered in this interview?

[ALEX_Y]:There was a little problem with the track. Attentive listener will notice that the title of the track has a note “Original”. The following situation happened: we sent the track for distribution and then decided to cut the arrangement. But the distributor refused to replace the master track for us. So the shortened version had to be released separately and the first release had to be deleted.
