So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?
We released “Vows” Oct 1st and then “Biodome” Dec 1st 2024 as the first two singles off of the upcoming album (to be released June 2025) and we’ve gotten some really good reaction. The singles have both streamed very well, but more importantly we’ve gotten some great feedback from the fans! They’ve bothered been really well received.
Tell us something about the release no one knows?
Secrets? Well it’s not a secret but these are the first songs we’ve released that have been produced by our very own Michael Ganic! We think he did a killer job! Biodome is probably the most pop-like song we’ve released, the chord progression and the riff I’ve been playing around (Cam) with for a long while.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
Well that’s a tough one. We’re very open to collaboration with almost anyone to be honest. For me (Cam) I would love to work with Oh Sees. They blew me away with their energy when they were last in Vancouver.
How has your latest release been received?
The singles have gone over very well! We’re really excited for the next single “Ghost” to be released Jan 31st and for the rest of the album as well.
Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?
Biodome”, the new single from Vancouver-based The Haptics, is about the challenge of falling in love when you’re fiercely independent. The singer is a cynic when it comes to love, but carefully ventures forth in the lines of the chorus to ask, “Is there something I can give”? / Some little sacrifice / I don’t need to live”
What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?
We’re going to be playing some regional shows this spring. Can’t wait to get back to Kelowna, Penticton, and Victoria. We’re also hoping to hit up the festival circuit this summer.
What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?
Ya we’d love to play some festivals next summer because of the venues. It would be super fun to hit up a big stage with an outdoor setting. But honestly so far our favourite shows have been in some smaller places in Vancouver. Love playing the Cobalt, Lanalous, and the Princeton. Hope to be on all three stages in 2025
What else can we expect from you in 2023?
2025? Well the big thing is the album! Look for our second album to hit in June 2025!
