INTERVIEW: Armenian Pop Star Rosa Linn Reveals Hindi Version Of ‘Universe’ With More Renditions To Follow

What was the best part of creating the Hindi rendition of ‘Universe’, and why?

I was super excited to sing in Hindi for the first time. And I thought doing this version was kind of my way of thanking the fans for giving me so much love.

What did Denny bring to the Hindi rendition of ‘Universe’ that differentiates it from other versions?

I love that he added some Indian elements to the song using traditional instruments. Of course the language does the magic. All these alternative versions of “Universe” sound different because every language has its town and colors.

‘Universe’ combines electronic beats with acoustic charm. How do you achieve this balance in your music, and what inspired this fusion?

I’m a meloman. I listen to a lot of music from around the World and different genres. It influences my melodies and lyrics a lot.

Can you share any memorable moments or insights from your collaboration with Denny?

I was cutting the vocals in Italy, while I was on tour and it was very funny, sending Denny voice memos of my takes to check the pronunciation.

How do personal experiences and emotions influence your songwriting, particularly in ‘Universe’?

I always write about my own experiences, it’s my way to process things and deal with my feelings. I don’t know how else to write a song. “Universe” is the same. I daydream all the time, I live in my head more than in reality. And “Universe” is my anthem for daydreamers.

Representing Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest was a major achievement. How did this experience shape your career and open up new opportunities?

It changed everything. Snap went viral after it and gave a start to my career. I got to work with the people I admired my whole life. It was crazy for me to go on my first tour opening for Ed Sheeran in the stadiums. I had the wildest two years after Eurovision.

Your music has generated over 1.3 billion global streams. How do you stay connected with your fans, and what feedback have you received that has particularly resonated with you?

It means the world to see that so many people connect to a song I started writing in my bedroom at 4am not even knowing what’s gonna happen to it after the release. It is crazy that people relate to it in so many ways. I think about it a lot trying to understand the magic behind the song.
