Interview with Chuck Ransom of the Chuck Norris Experiment, Gothenburg, Sweden.
So how has your latest album gone so far with fans then?
It has been going well! We are picking up more plays than ever on Spotify, and all coloured vinyl sold out in about a week. Exciting times indeed!
Tell us something about the release no one knows?
The vinyl was supposed to be pressed in black, yellow and blue. Same amount of each colour. But when the records were received, the label received way more records than what was ordered, and in black and black/white marble only. But they look totally awesome, so we are happy with it.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
Hmm, difficult question, there are so many bands I would like to work with. But I have to go with Queens Of The Stone Age. I am very curious how their writing process goes, and my guess is that there is a huge amount of pure madness in that band that would be very entertaining for a day or two.
How has your latest release been received?
Very well, great reviews all over the place, and people have nothing but nice things to say about it.
Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track Hot Damn?
That song is about the first time I saw the woman who later became my wife. We were at a wild west themed party at a wrestling club in Göteborg, and she walked in with her friends, and I said HOT DAMN out loud and kind of friendly stalked her until she said OK for a date. I got instantly hooked and has been ever since.
What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?
We will be touring Spain in October, Sweden and Germany during the winter, and then we will be back in the UK in March 2025. No long tours this year, but there will be a bunch of long weekends coming up.
What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?
There is a place called The Pitcher in Düsseldorf that we always return to. We have always been so well received and taken cared of there, it feels a bit like a second home. A tour without The Pitcher is no real tour. If you are in Düsseldorf, you need to go there for a show.
What else can we expect from you in 2024?
We always have something cooking. Right now, we are enjoying that our new album “20” is released. We will be releasing a split 5-inch vinyl single with my other band The Riptide Rats in November, and we got another interesting split-album project with our Norwegian brothers The Gasölines in the works. We try to keep busy, life is too short not to rock.
