Your debut album ‘Life With You’ drops this year – how does it feel to be finally releasing your first full-length feature?
I’ve been writing songs in Nashville since 2016. During these years I have been figuring out what it is I wanna say/sing about on my first record. I’m really excited to finally get to share what my co-writers and I have been working on for along time now. I can’t wait for these songs to be out there.
Can you talk us through the inspiration behind the album, both musically and lyrically?
Every song on this album comes from a place of truth. Each story is something myself or my co-writers have lived out at some point in our lives. It’s a 15 song album full of love songs, heartbreak songs, everyday life songs and party songs. Hopefully something everybody can relate to.
What was the first music you loved and how has it shaped you as the artist you are today?
Gospel music is some of the first music I listened to and loved. I’ve always thought the big vocals and use of harmonies sounded so cool.
The lead single ‘Life With You’ has resonated with millions of fans worldwide. What do you hope listeners will take from both the single and upcoming album?
It’s been so amazing to see how many people have connected with my single “life with you.”
I’m hopeful that the other songs will take them on a journey and they feel the same connection.
The album is described to be following country traditions, with personal lyrics dedicated to your wife and family. How do you strike a balance between paying homage to the genre’s origins and maintaining a modern sound?
I feel like the sound of country is always changing but staying true to story telling with great lyrics and keeping that steel guitar cranking will help keep it country 😎
You’ve lent your songwriting prowess to the likes of Dylan Scott and Jake Owens. How does this inspire your personal artistry?
It’s very humbling to have had some of my songs cut by other artists. Writing as much as I have over the years has really helped me find my sound and what I wanna say as an artist.
If ‘Life With You’ could be summarized in three words, what would they be?
Love, forever, thankful
Following the release of the anticipated ‘Life With You’, what can fans expect next?
With the album coming out this year, I am excited to be on the road playing shows and meeting fans as much as possible!
