TOKKY HORROR Announce KAPPACORE XTENDED EP

Punk collective TOKKY HORROR have announced KAPPACORE XTENDED EP, an extended physical vinyl version of their huge, addictive and chaotic EP ‘KAPPACORE‘. KAPPACORE XTENDED is out the 6th October 2023 via Venn Records and can be pre-ordered – HERE.

Speaking about the collaborations on the new EP Zee said “I’ve always believed in collaboration, this entire project is about learning and the best way to learn is from working with other people. We don’t have any intentions with it other than wanting to make tunes with our friends, we’re lucky to have so many talented ones with Remée, Zand, Vlure, Blazer Boccle, McNulti + Bobby Wolfgang all appearing”

To celebrate the announcement the band have released a brand new video for single ‘MAXINE’. The video is directed by Harry Steel (Stand Atlantic, Sylosis, Heriot). Watch video for single ‘MAXINE’ HERE.

Speaking about the video Zee said “I’ve always been very keen to hold a mirror up to our surroundings with Tokky Horror, we’re not fictional, we sing about our friends and our lives and our community. Unfortunately we’ve lost some of those friends over the years to drug overdose. It makes me so angry to see the UK government fully ignore the advice of professionals when it comes to drug legislation and education. We know that decriminalisation lowers rates of addiction and overdose. We know it eases pressure on health services. We know that good education promotes healthy living and again lowers these rates. We know people take drugs regardless of the legal situation, whether they’re legal or not. We accepted that with alcohol and prohibition. Our current drug policy and the war on drugs, doesn’t exist for any purpose other than political. It is about appearance and appealing to conservative morals. It isn’t based in fact and when you have friends who have died, maybe not directly because of these policies, you start to wonder at what point you do blame the society they grew up in? A society that doesn’t allow us to give honest drug use education because of social stigma and a political pissing competition. Ultimately, we all need to look after our friends and our community.”
