Ignition Transmission!

‘Into the darkness I fall’.

So today I’ve got something that was sent over to me by my friend Nick, an avid music lover, he thought I’d be interested in taking a gander. Richard Hayward is a solo artist performing under the name Embers Ignite, who has unleashed a 4 piece taster set for our delectation.
Off we go with ‘Into The Darkness’ and that riff is quite something, luring you into his world, from the outset you get a little Killing Joke, you get a little Scarred By Truth, fast, heavy, dark and gnarly as fuck. Simmering, bubbling away under the radar, intense and fiery in its tone and execution, the accompanying visualiser complements the music perfectly with the red and orange flames that float across the screen.
Simple words that are effective and hard as nails as they ping pong across your senses, piercing and piquing your ears.
The guttural murmurings of Richard are typical of the Death Metal genre, charred vocal chords mirror the concept of the songs, listen out for that low growl at 2.14 on the title track.
I quite like feral music; harks back to a time without all this technology, there is something quaint, in the unusual sense, yet abrasive, untamed like a wild, overgrown garden, but pure in its essence. ‘From The Ashes’ is an instrumental piece, tightly woven, created, mixed, and presented in a revolutionary style, the EP, I feel revolves around this track, with no words, we see the craft, the toil, blood, sweat and tears.
‘The Curse Of Man’ finishes this neat little collection, leaving you with the notion that there is much more to come, more drama and performance from this multi-skilled, multi-talented individual.
Descend with me, be friends with me, to the end with me, Hell awaits, the embers, they singe and scorch, infernal and eternal, sit back and watch the world burn.
