The Hurt Infusion

They are currently criss-crossing over land and sea on a tour, the fans await with bated breath the release of a new album ‘A Kiss For The Whole World’, and I am very privileged to be getting a peek at the new single from Enter Shikari, which is out tomorrow.
‘It Hurts’ is a classy, fresh and juicy little number, it has the essence of Enter Shikari at its core, just diverting into a cosmic fusion of dance and trance vibes, the perfect song for dancing round your kitchen, oblivious to the troubles that haunt you. Enter Shikari have always been a pleasure to listen to, from the early days of ‘Sorry You’re Not A Winner’ to the unbelievably brilliant ‘Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible’ album, the anticipation for the next chapter is intoxicating. Their tunes have always had a tribal aspect, guaranteeing a mosh call in every song, there is comfort in the fringes of society when you have these lads for company. The change in vocal styles from robotic, echo type to classic Rou is a quality listen, an earworm for sure. For now, enjoy this beauty, an absolute delight, a very skilful, provocative, thoughtful and engaging mechanism, a stimulus to power forward despite the hurt and heartache, it is proof positive of their standing in the music business, and why people are drawn to them. They are the intrepid explorers, bona fide survivors, harnessing a zeal, an honesty and a down-to earth charm that is always appealing and exudes acceptance and belonging.
After ‘hitting walls and taking falls’ the wait for the release day is agonising, no really- it hurts.
