“I gotta end this while I’m still young”
So friends after suffering another bout of serious flu, I’m back and just in time to catch this little beauty from those deliciously dark devils As Sirens Fall, rejected from heaven they hijack our hearts and souls, a lethal provocation that is significant and essential in our current climate. A visually stunning video that is reminiscent of Marmozets ‘Play’ using water as the element to portray our innermost thoughts gracefully and emphatically, arms outstretched accepting the deluge gratefully. Set on a drip, drip, whoosh release, you kinda don’t want to give too much away, there is a wholesomeness about the dark that, well, if you know, you know. However, the need to scream, to vocalise our emotions is expressed beautifully here, a throwback to ‘L’Appel Du Vide’ where the void is a constant, forever waiting to capture our frailties and our detritus. It makes life both liveable and unliveable, the music here is testament to craft of ASF, guitars that ignite us, bass lines that provide an incredible support network and drums that hurt like hell, but we endure, nay, we enjoy every note, every morsel thrown at our feet.
Not good enough for heaven maybe, but there will always be a place for ASF in our heathen hearts.
