Live Review: SWF Wrestling and Kapow Wrestling storm Eastleigh’s Thornden Hall

SWF Wrestling and Kapow Wrestling once again provided entertainment, slams and fun for all the family at Eastleigh’s Thornden Hall this past Saturday on 17th September.

Prior to the event, the packed crowd were asked to stand up to commemorate The Queen’s recent death as all of the wrestlers surrounded the ring for the national anthem.

The event started with ‘Idol’ Ian Logan taking on Sassy Bear Clarence with Logan announcing himself on the mic after a kid tried to attack him with an inflatable going to the ring.

It was a fantastic match as Sassy Bear Clarence won with a slam after pushing Logan on the turnbuckle – these two certainly have a lot of chemistry together.

Next up was Abi Cartwright who also announced herself and claimed she read lots of literature and said the match won’t happen and that she’d do a book reading instead.

There were lots of boos until Darcey Stone came out as she looked to fight Cartwright for a Number one contender match against Darcey Stone who will go on to Southampton at Rage at the Cage on 29th October to contend for the women’s championship.

During the match Cartwright even read a story to Darcey while in submission lock however the match finished when she hit crowd favourite Stone with book to win without the referee noticing.

Before the interval the SWF/Kapow tag team championship was up for grabs as current champions Vicious and Delicious were hit by kids with inflatables on entrance and MJR Lee Buff and Billy Whizz, came on to A Team music as they announced their team name as Buff Whizz.

Whizz tagged in Buff after getting beat up then performed a Claudio Castagnoli like swing showing his strength as Whizz shortly after provided a double drop kick. The match finished unfortunately not long after as Vicious and Delicious used the Tag Team belts as a weapon as the match ended in a DQ finish. It was also announced that the team will defend the titles in January 2023 again against former TNA man Doug Williams and a mystery opponent as they return to Eastleigh.

The last two matches saw veteran Kris Kay get defeated by Blitz which was certainly a stand out match for the neutrals. The ever so popular Lionkid also retained his SWF title defeating Twitch and Alexander Murdock in a triple threat to headline this fantastic night of entertainment. The crowd certainly enjoyed this win and just showed exactly how much of a great night is to be had at one of these events at such an affordable price.
