The Native release new video for ‘Changes’

From touring arenas as guests to Bastille to signing a deal with rock ‘n’ roll tastemakers This FeelingThe Native have gone from strength-to-strength in 2022. Their first single for the label, ‘Changes’, landed a broad sweep of streaming support plus airplay from Radio X and BBC Radio London, which they today build upon by sharing the song’s brand new video. It comes as The Native follow their recent UK headline tour with upcoming festivals including Isle of WightTruck and Y Not.

The video sees The Native hitting the St. Merryn Airfield in Cornwall, a location which is also home to Airfield Studios, where they recorded ‘Changes’ with producer John Cornfield (OasisMuseThe Stone Roses). The band’s jet-fuelled propulsive performance is the video’s centrepiece, which is cut with the band enjoying some youthful hijinks around the intriguingly desolate location. The video was directed by William Noordewier, brother of frontman Charlie

Charlie says, “The video starts with us all bored and stuck for things to do and then slowly derails into chaos. We wanted to show the downfall that we were trying so hard not to fall into.”

‘Changes’ features on the band’s upcoming EP, which was entirely produced by John Cornfield and mixed by the Grammy Award-winning Adrian Bushby (Foo FightersMuseEverything Everything). The Native consists of Charlie Noordewier (vocals/guitar), Ben Andrew (guitar), Tom Booth (bass), Harry Youngs (keys) and Fergus Segrove (drums).

The Native’s roots go back to secondary school in Plymouth, where the then four-piece band played a huge MTV Ocean City Sounds show as guests to Bastille after just one rehearsal. Soon able to headline Plymouth Pavilions, the band’s sound evolved as their live show took off, with equal doses of grit, melodies and attitude.
