Adding to his already impressive catalog of hit songs, Sarantos returns
with a touching tribute piece on: Father’s Day. This track features
Sarantos delivering his signature bluesy singing style coupled with
groovy, syncopated rhythms which elicit a dance reaction in his
audience. Traditionally, a meditative and relaxation music producer,
Sarantos has been branching into pop, EDM, and even Country with his
musical concepts and themes. “Father’s Day” is another venture into the
rock arena while blending those same Pop melodies which have brought him
success in the past, for example on tracks like “I Never Catch The
Train”, and “Eyebanging.” While generally reserved as a satirical
artist, Sarantos leaves the comedy aside and elects instead for some
deeper insights, as “Father’s Day” explores some of the deeper metaphors
of how a father touches the lives of his sons. It must be said, it’s the
imagery and connotations Sarantos derives from his lyrical structure
which should be appreciated on this track. “Now it’s my job to raise you
right because life will be full of pain”. As each verse ends the next
seems to be cross-faded into the last creating a harmonization that is
quite unique. This approach gives the lyrical prose a call and response
style, similar to a duet, and in this case, simulates the father and son
singing to each other.
It pains me to say, Father’s Day is not my favorite track from Sarantos,
as I have been following this artist for many years now. However, the
track is another solid offering from Sarantos as it seems this artist
has no slow down in his repertoire. As a June release, it is well-timed
for the occasion. As a tribute piece, “Father’s Day: is a good, solid
track, even if it is not geared for popular commercial radio playlist
rotation. With the steady stream of releases Sarantos does offer, this
is a great track to tide me over til the next big hit.
