The Glam-Rock quintet Jo-Jo & The Teeth have dropped the music video for their rich and sophistication studded lead track ‘Don’t Get Too Heavy.’ The song, due for release on 6 May 2022, is from the self produced forthcoming debut album No More Good News – recorded, mixed and mastered by Jason Stafford.

Citing influences from Queen and Fleetwood Mac to the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, the band’s members hail from far and wide, with Canadian vocalist Jojo O’Donoghue forming the group after journeying from the Rocky Mountains to the Isle of Wight via Dublin, before settling in London. This glorious band consists of the forging of two Canadians, an Isle of Wight duo and a Surrey man.

The new single ‘Don’t Get Too Heavy‘ sees vocalist Jojo O’Donoghue dripping in glamour on this release, dominating and commanding with a stage presence that oozes charisma and vocals that combine rich rasps and deep velvet tones. An upbeat and compelling sound that has listeners under its spell, the track’s anthemic quality is certain to lift any mood and induce a sing-along session, with chantable lyrics: “Dream on Dream Weaver! / I know your head it feels so heavy / You’re not alone,” and refreshing, free-spirited messages such as: “You’re not all out of love, stay weird, get wild.”

The band’s London debut involved opening for Carl Barât (The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, The Jackals,) and they have been regulars at the Kashmir Cafe Tent at the Isle Of Wight Festival since 2018, headlining the Saturday night last year.

Jo-Jo & The Teeth are seasoned performers, conjuring an arena sound and spectacle, and ‘Don’t Get Too Heavy‘ is a belter ablaze with a liberating style that breathes new life into the genre – a true showstopper of a song. We can’t wait to let our hair down to the other rock and roll treats that the No More Good News record has in store.
