Deva Contralto

First things first, many, many congratulations to Lindsay on winning at the OMA’s this year, an outstanding achievement as the fight for equality and recognition for women in music continues, yes, we are in 2021 and yes, these conversations are still needed.
Here she teams up with our very own UK Goth queen Sarah Jezebel Deva to furnish our ravaged souls with swathes of luxurious gorgeousness, sink deep into the honesty and be entranced by the enigmatic and ultra -smooth dual vocal sensation, borne out of shared experience and trauma. Written so that they could both reconcile their own emotions, and in turn we can benefit from its desirous, mezzo-soprano with contralto leanings and bathe in the aura.
Immensely enjoyable and abundant in its glory, the lyrics are cutting, demanding of your attention but are calculating of scenarios many people suffer. These two goddesses have clawed their way back up, showing great determination and fortitude. Lindsay is very vocal on social media too, always reminding us that the toxicity is an unwanted and unnecessary embellishment, it is time to get shot of it. Your attendance at this School Of Devanity is essential.
‘You held the gaslight above my head to lead me astray’ a poignant reminder of how people are stuck in abusive relationships, unable to find a way out. The message is clear, conscientious and energising, set to a score that is classic in nature, and the embodiment of care, kindness and tenderness.
We have encountered many monsters during our lifetime, we have nourished them, we have housed them, it is time to adjust our vision and our focus to obliterate all that is damaging and take back our ‘Stolen Light’.
