Albert Mikkelsen – “Demerol”

Alternative musician Albert Mikkelsen returns to the forefront of music with his latest single release, “Demerol.” Changing up his style once more, his latest work celebrates the artist’s vision and creativity that is as expressive as it is fascinating.

Albert Mikkelsen’s music works on the foundation of him also being an excellent musical storyteller. On his last EP, “Stranger,” the talented rocker told the story of a deserter/soldier that is on a journey to find hope while facing a bevy of issues. “Demerol” follows the pattern of story-based songs but with a much more aggressive edge. Here, he conveys the story of love sought for all the wrong reasons.

“Demerol” was created with the idea of exploring the edges of human emotion, with a lot of the song taking a darker tone. It dives into the explosive mix of desire and insecurity. It’s a big, almost cinematic song, and it’s extremely unique in that regard. You’ll never really hear something quite like it.

Mixed by Leo Pascual at Ophiura Studio and mastered by Marco Rostagno, Albert takes the listener through an explosive mix of electronic music, flourished with pop, hip hop, and metal hints. It’s an explosive blend of genres, and that’s exactly what the artist is going for.

Overall, “Demerol” is a fascinating piece that really showcases the capability and creativity of the artist behind it. There’s a lot to unpack in this single, and we’re happy to see complex songwriting in the modern music landscape.
